Media air cleaners can be used for either wet or dry applications.
They work by drawing polluted air through a first stage pre-filter to
capture large particulate and droplets. This extends the life of the
primary media filter, which uses a combination of technologies including:
straining, impaction, interception, and diffusion to strip submicron particles
from the air. In many applications, the primary filter is sufficient to capture
most of the dust and/or mist in the air stream. When higher efficiency is needed
to capture and filter smoke, a final filter such as a 95% DOP or HEPA filter
can be added to further clean the air.
Whether your application is generating oily smoke or steam, you may
have visible “smoke” emissions above your mist collector. Before you
add a HEPA or another filter to the system you have, contact us at kbristow@airsysco.com.
We will work with you to determine your best solution and may be able
to offer a better alternative.
